THE VALUE OF GOD'S WORD

Most people turn to the Word of God when something goes bad in their lives. They use it as a way to “feel better”, but what they still haven’t been able to realize or comprehend is that the Bible was written so we could avoid all of the “bad things” from happening.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
(II Timothy 3:16-17)
- God wants us all to understand His Word, because He gave it to us so we could learn from it, understand how we’re supposed to live by it and correct our walk so that we’re walking according to it. This way we are perfect in His eyes.

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
(Ephesians 2:10)
- God created us to walk according to His Word.

If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
(John 15:7)
- If we are living according to God’s Word, He WILL give us whatever we ask for.

But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.
(Luke 12:31)
- If we seek after God’s Word before all things, He will bless us with everything.

Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
(Romans 1:21-23)
- Anybody who chooses to live their own way and not according to God’s Word is a fool and has changed the perfect image God made them to be into something evil.

But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
(II Corinthians 4:3-4)
- Satan blinds people from knowing and understanding the truth of God’s Word.

And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
(Ephesians 1:19-23)
- The Word of God is more powerful than any attack that can come from Satan.

Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes. Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways.
(Haggai 1:6-7)
- When we do things our way instead of according to God’s Word, he will NOT bless us.

For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
(Isaiah 55:10-11)
- God’s Word accomplishes everything it sets out to do, the difference is whether or not we will receive the blessing or someone else.

Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things. Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
(Galatians 6:5-10)
- When we put God’s Word first He will bless us.

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
(Ephesians 3:20)
- Because of God’s Word we can do great and mighty things in His name, because his power works through us.

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
(II Timothy 2:15)
- Without knowing God’s Word we cannot understand what it is God wants for us and we will not know what should and should not be part of our lives.

Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.
(I Timothy 6:17-19)
- It is required of us to teach God’s Word to others.

For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
(Revelation 22:18-19)
- If we deny, remove or add to anything in God’s Word then we are cursed and we will never be able to enter into heaven.

Without knowing and understanding God’s Word we will never be able to come to the realization of what is true salvation; it’s not just to be forgiven of our sins and washed in the blood of Christ but to accept that God wants us to live a life of perfect health and abundant wealth and the peace of mind that comes with it. Salvation means nothing missing and nothing lacking. God’s Word is the tool we need to find it.

Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth.
(III John 2)
