Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
(LUKE 6:38)
Did you know that how blessed you are is up to you? It’s up to how faithful you are to the word of God. It’s up to the amount of faith the Lord sees in you. It’s according to how much you give to the Lord; how much time, money and yourself. I know I’ve told this story before but it’s worth repeating. There was once an old lady who was considered the most faithful woman in her town. Well, she soon died from her old age. When her son looked at her finances he noticed she had no money. This angered him. He went and spoke with his pastor and complained about it. His pastor’s reply was this, “I knew your mother, she was a great woman. Anytime someone had need she gave. If they needed clothes, she gave them clothes. If they needed food, she gave them food. If they needed company, she visited them. So ask yourself son, did your mother ever lack any of these things? No, of course not, because whatever you give to others in the Lord’s name God will return it to you.” The son went away that day realize how blessed his mother was. He understood the point the pastor tried to make, but do you? Something big is coming in your life, but it’s up to you whether it will happen or not. How hard would your life be if you gave God only what he asks for, ten percent of everything in your life? Ten cents out of every dollar and six minutes out of every hour don’t seem like too much to ask for God to eternally bless your life.
Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts. And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the LORD of hosts.
