There are so many people ignorant to the truth about God’s judgment, being judged, and judging others. Okay, let’s finally put to rest this stupid comment quoted by Tupac and now everybody thinks that it is truth. There is no scripture in the Bible that says that only God can judge you. Hebrews 12:23 does say that God is the judge of all and Hebrews 10:30 says that God will judge his people. But there are many other verses in the Bible that talk about judging. The first of which is the one most people take out of context the most. Matthew 7:1 says JUDGE NOT LEST YE BE JUDGED. But have any of you ever taken the time to read the entire scripture in context or have you ever taken the time to read the literal translation of the original text? IF you read the entire text from verse one to five you would see what it actually is saying is not that we cannot judge, but rather that we should not judge UNLESS we are prepared to be judged in return. Because in the same manner we judge someone else, they have the same right to judge us in return. And those are Jesus’s own words. I bet that sent you self righteous, luke warm Christians for a spin didn’t it?
Well let’s move on to more scriptures about judgement and what the Bible actually says about it. What about John 7:24, where again Jesus is speaking? He doesn’t say here not to judge, he tells us that when we do judge, we should do so righteously. The Bible does talk about hypocritical judgement. For example Romans 2 talks about how can one person judge someone for doing something that the person also does. That’s like a drunk telling a drunk he’s going to hell for drinking. Or it’s like someone who claims to be a Christian and starts telling people how they are sinners because they do this or that, but yet he himself is not living the proper walk. Basically it goes back to the original point (as does all the scriptures in the Bible referring to judgement, if you judge someone, be prepared for them to turn around and judge you. But once again, you cannot find any where in the Bible where it says you cannot, at all, ever judge man.
Now let’s look at one of my favorite chapters in the Bible. I Corinthians 2. Here Paul puts into perspective, not only the walk we should have with God, but if we have this kind of walk, we can judge others. Look at verses one through eight. Here Paul talks about how worldly wisdom and knowledge means nothing, if we have not the wisdom and knowledge that comes from the word of God. He also talks about how we should not mix the things of the world with the things of God to entice people into God’s word (that’s for all you people who believe in "Christian Rock or Rap" and think having Deon Sanders speak at your church will make a difference or have "Youth Night" where you don’t even bother preaching God’s word. Instead you have them who knows where, doing who knows what and calling it the work of God). No one will ever convince me that having a "Youth Dance Night" in your church is a work of God. You have no scriptural foundation for that and you never will find any. But I have some for you. Romans 12:2 says to be separate from the things of this world. How you like them apples? But I digress and I have not finished dissecting I Corinthians 2. Let’s look at verses nine through fourteen. Here it talks about how we as Children of God should not receive the knowledge and ways of the world, because they are not part of us. But rather the Lord freely gives us his wisdom through his spirit and according to your faith in receiving it. And finally the two verses that tie it all into the point I want to make. Verses fifteen and sixteen. IF we are separate from the world, IF we are filled with the knowledge of the word of God and not the world, IF we are filled with the Spirit of God then therefore according to his word, we have the mind of Christ and are spiritual and righteous in his eyes in his eyes. And since this is true verse fourteen says that we as the spiritually minded in Christ judge ALL things.
Finally, let’s look at I Corinthians 6. Verses two and three put it into good perspective. We are called the saints of Christ (which you should be ok with unless you’re an ignorant Catholic), and as saints of God we are called to judge the world, the angels and all things pertaining to this life. But why do we do this? Because, no sin will enter into heaven. Which is what verses nine and ten talk about. And we judge others according to verse eleven, because IF we are clean and brand new in Christ (as I Corinthians 5:17 says) then we are called to judge others so that they stay in the same manner of cleanliness and purity in Christ. According to verses fourteen through twenty says we are one with Christ, but how can we be one if we continue to sin?
We as the church of God are his bride and according to Ephesians 5:27 we are supposed to be presented to God without blemish or spot. Jesus is perfection and according to I Corinthians 13:10 when he has returned everything that is not perfect like him will not go with him, but it will disappear from his sight. There are hundreds more scriptures in the Bible to further prove what the Bible says about judgement. But I leave you with this. There are so many people who use the poor excuse that they simply cannot understand the Bible, so therefore how could they be held accountable for what it says. Well then I offer you II Timothy 3:14-17 as my reply. If you read verses fourteen and fifteen, it says that even a small child can understand the things of the Bible. Are you not smarter than a child? But it also goes on to say what the Bible is for. According to verse sixteen, the Bible is the inspired word of God, which is ours to use to teach, correct, and to JUDGE. But once again you ask why? And I find the answer in verse seventeen, so that the man of God is made PERFECT, complete in all things and proven in all his works.
